WARRANTY AND RETURNS POLICY

Thank you for choosing our products! I’m a bit sad that you’re reading this. Here’s a TL:DR (human version) of our warranty and returns policy, and you can scroll down further to read the legalese version.
Warranty (1 year, starts at delivery)
- Your Handlworks product is covered for 1 year from the day it lands on your doorstep.
- Warranty covers real defects (bad parts, things we did wrong in production).
- It doesn’t cover damage from installation, normal wear, scratches/dings, or shipping damage (that’s between you and the carrier, and we buy insurance on our shipments).
- If you bought from a dealer, start your claim with them. If you bought direct, come to us.
- You ship it to us, we cover shipping it back if it’s a valid claim.
- We’ll repair, replace (sometimes with refurbished parts), or refund — whichever makes the most sense.
Returns and Swaps (14 days)
- You’ve got 14 days from delivery to send it back if you change your mind or ordered the incorrect product.
- Product has to be basically new — no damage, no miles, no missing parts, all packaging included.
- Non-defective returns and product swaps carry a flat $80 restocking fee.
- Refunds hit your account in about 7–10 business days after inspection.
- Deductions apply if the product has miles on it (>2 miles = $80), damage ($200), or missing parts/accessories ($100).
- Some stuff just can’t be returned: used gear, software/firmware, custom builds, or gift cards.
- Cancelled orders may be subject to a cancellation fee: 5% before production starts, or up to 10% once production has started, parts have been allocated, or the order has entered the build queue.

The Legalese Version:
This Warranty and Returns Policy (“Policy”) governs the warranty coverage, return procedures, and related terms applicable to products purchased from Handlworks (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By purchasing and using our products, the purchaser (“you,” “your,” or “Customer”) agrees to the terms outlined herein.
1. Limited Warranty
Handlworks provides a one (1) year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This warranty begins on the date of delivery to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
This warranty applies solely to products purchased directly from Handlworks or an authorized dealer and used in accordance with the product’s intended purpose.

2. Warranty Coverage
This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects that materially affect product performance, including but not limited to faulty components, malfunctioning parts, or defects arising from the manufacturing process.
Exclusions: This warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear.
Cosmetic damage (including but not limited to scratches, dents, abrasions, or other superficial changes).
Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, neglect, accidents, modifications, or unauthorized repairs.
Damage sustained during shipping (claims for which must be filed by the Customer directly with the carrier).
Any damage resulting from conditions beyond our reasonable control.
3. Warranty Claims Procedure
To initiate a warranty claim, the Customer must contact Handlworks Customer Support within the warranty period and provide detailed information regarding the alleged defect. Handlworks may request photographs, video, or troubleshooting steps to assess the claim.
If the product was purchased through an authorized dealer or reseller, the Customer must initiate the warranty claim process directly with their place of purchase. The dealer or reseller will coordinate with Handlworks on warranty evaluation and resolution.
If the product was purchased directly from Handlworks, the Customer must submit the claim to Handlworks Customer Support.
If the product is determined by Handlworks to be defective and covered by this warranty:
- The Customer is responsible for shipping the product to Handlworks for evaluation.
- Handlworks will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement product back to the Customer.
- Handlworks may, at its sole discretion, repair the defective product, replace it with a new or refurbished product or component, or issue a refund.
- Replacement products or parts may be refurbished and are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period.
4. Return, Swap, and Refund Policy
Handlworks accepts returns and product swaps subject to the following conditions:
The Customer must initiate the process within fourteen (14) days from the date of delivery.
Returned products must be in their original condition, unused, undamaged, and include all original accessories, packaging, and documentation.
A flat restocking fee of $80 will be applied to all non-defective returns.
Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment within seven (7) to ten (10) business days after Handlworks receives and inspects the returned product.
Deductions from Refunds: In addition to the $80 restocking fee, the following deductions will apply if applicable:
- $80 deduction if the odometer reading exceeds two (2) miles.
- $200 deduction for damage identified during inspection.
- $100 deduction for missing parts, accessories, or other deficiencies not otherwise specified.
Order Cancellations Before Shipment:
Because many Handlworks products are built to order and payment processing fees are not returned to us when an order is refunded, cancelled orders are subject to a cancellation fee.
Orders cancelled before production has started are subject to a **5% cancellation fee**.
Orders cancelled after production has started, parts have been allocated, or the order has entered the build queue may be subject to a **10% cancellation fee**.
Once an order has shipped, it is no longer eligible for cancellation and will be handled under our return, swap, and refund policy.
Cancellation fees apply only to orders cancelled at the customer’s request and do not apply if Handlworks cancels an order due to inventory issues, inability to fulfill, or another issue caused by Handlworks.

5. Non-Returnable Items
- The following items are not eligible for return:
- Products that have been used, altered, or damaged by the Customer.
- Products not returned in original condition or missing required parts.
- Software, firmware, or downloadable products.
- Custom-built or personalized items.
- Gift cards and clearance items.
6. Modifications to Policy
Handlworks reserves the right to modify or update this Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will apply prospectively and will not affect purchases made prior to the effective date of such changes.
7. Governing Version
In the event of a conflict between this Policy and any other materials describing warranty or return terms, this Policy shall govern. The version of this Policy in effect at the time of purchase shall apply to that purchase.
